CLUB HISTORY IN BRIEF - CLUB BACKGROUND

 

·          Rotary Club of Pune Ganeshkhind is a club sponsored by Rotary

Club of Pune Shivajinagar. Rtn K Vittal Rao (PDG) was the GSR.

·          Charter dated 23rd May 90, was presented on 4th Aug 1990, at the

hands of Rtn Satish Kaushik, then IPDG at the Convocation Hall of Pune University. Rtn Mukund Abhyankar, the then DG and Rtn Sudhir Rashingkar, the then DGE, were present.

·          On 23rd May 1990 our club membership was 27. Charter Board of

Directors were - Mohan Dayal, Rajendra Valvekar, Subhash Saraf, Ravindra Saykhedkar, Viren Pathak, Dilip Ambekar, Mukesh Chopda, Paras Jain, Dilip Kothari, Vidyut Gandhi, Ashok Kumar and Kishore Shetty.

·          2002-03 was the year to remember when our club had the honour of

having our Subhash Saraf, when he lead the district as District Governor. During 2002-04 he was also the Trustee of Rotary India Manav Seva Award Trust.

·          Club had the honour of having Subhash Saraf, Daulat Savant,

Jayashree Mohite and Sushil Pungaliya as the Assistant Governors for the years 1999-2000, 2006-07, 2007-08 2009-10.  Besides, many of our members have been entrusted important district responsibilities, like District Secretary, District Trainer, District Treasurer, Avenue Chairman, VIPs Special Aide, District Chairman, Coordinators, Counselor, Regional Director, GGR, etc.

·          Club continues to win several RI recognitions and district awards

every year, making us one of  leading clubs. Club bulletin & eBulletin enjoy a special place. It has been hosting district events every year.

·          Our club has conducted numerous fund raising programmes, thus

supporting numerous service projects.  Club is in the forefront as far as Foundation contributions and its programmes as GSE are concerned.

 

Club, now a mature twenty years old, has ever been working in the field of community service in urban and rural areas such as Polio Eradication, Education, Vocational Training, Medical Camps and need-based Projects.
